Projects: Interior Alaska

A project located at Fort Wainwright (Fairbanks) required the acquisition of geotechnical soil samples beneath the lake bed of Badger Pit (water depth of approximately 12 ft.) during early March. This project used the advantage of the relatively light weight Geoprobe© 6610 direct-push machine to mobilize to several locations within the pit on the ice surface and acquire continuous soil samples to a total depth of 65 ft. below the lake bed. All samples were acquired safely and successfully.
